I can remember the first time I ran into JudyKeisler and Judy Knapp. They made a comment that made my day. “You’ve got a rock sound”. I had been recording and performing country for quite some time…and yet I’ve always thought I was meant for a different sound. Hearing those words – confirmed what I wanted to hear.
So why is it that now that my music and the songs that I sing are more “rock-ish” that I hear someone say “you know..you have a voice made for country” ?????
I’ll let you decide. let the comments begin:

You could do country-rock and make it work, but your vocal reminds me more of Mac Powell, or Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish. Darius crossed over and did a country album. I wouldn't worry about how people label your voice – it sounds good and that's really all that matters.
Mac Powell. Now theeeeeeres some shoes to fill! Thanks!
