It has been forever and a day since I have actually say down and recorded something – and just felt good about something. This one made me smile. A couple of months ago, I wrote a new chorus to “Jesus Loves Me”. Now, don’t get all crazy on me. I left the integrity of the song intact. I’ve been sharing my time off of our main stage and HUB stage at LifePoint Church doing worship for a much different crowd lately…the SMALL kiddos. (We’re talking 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s here!)
I had been teaching them some new songs during the last visits I had with them and decided one day to do “Jesus Loves Me”. The new chorus…just came out. I tried it out on my children – and they moved me to tears when they were singing it back to me after only a couple of times. My daughter even made some “sign language motions” to the song.
The new chorus stemmed from a statement I’ve made time and time to my kids…even when they mess up.
You are a special kid. Jesus always sees you as being special. He is your king, and you are His prince/princess! Isn’t that awesome?
The new chorus added to the already existing song is simple”
I’m a special kid
and you are my King.
Thank you for loving me
You’re the reason I sing.
I hope you enjoy.

Oh wow! That is sooooooo great! Where can I get permission to use that at our church?
Consider this my official permission. I'd love to hear it being used – so if you have any recording or video of your church using it…send it on!
Hey I have the same thing happen to me…kids seem to love Glory Train. I love your arrangement
"Glory Train" is a fun one. Glad you liked the new song! Hope you had a blast at IMMERSE, bro!
Amazing song. I love it!
