From a Child’s Perspective…”Getting ‘bathtized’”

Tonight, I had the pleasure of taking my daughter up to LifePoint to tape her testimony.  She handled herself well – and you could almost forget that she is such a child…until she says the word “baptized”.  She pronounces it in such a cool way.  So, on the way home, I decided to ask her about what it means to be “bathtized” as she puts it.

I can’t wait to be able to bring you video of the day I get to “bathtize” Amber.  It will rank right up there with this day…the day I got to baptize my son:

“Exciting Changes Are Coming” … indeed.

Today, I took a big leap with my family as we met together for the first time at our newest LifePoint Church campus – LifePoint : Stewarts Creek.  Providing God doesn’t call me to another church to lead it in worship – my family and I have committed to a year at the new campus to help get it going.  I remember driving by the site of the campus the Wednesday it was announced and voted on by LifePoint.  I had to pull in and say a prayer for great things for the campus.  I wasn’t convinced at that point that we would be committing to the church there – but felt that awesome things were going to happen there.

My wife started feeling a tug to go there and be involveyes in bibled as heavily as allowed  in the youth ministry.  We discussed it – prayed – and I  eventually had a conversation with my Worship Pastor to say that, simply, “wherever I need to be to serve…that’s where I’ll be.”  I went home and realized that it wasn’t my Worship Pastor who needed to make that choice – it was God.  I started feeling a peace about the campus – about shifting our lives to the new venue.  The choice seemed clear.

God was allowing me to say “YES!” to a decision to be “Dared to Move”.  We are yesat peace about it – and it felt like home.

Today, we met as the launch team at the Stewart’s Creek Campus.  We couldn’t not have selected a better campus pastor.  It is, strangely enough, already starting to feel like family.  — And my “YES” is on the table!

Exciting things are coming…

I’m just happy to be along for the ride!

Make someone's day brighter!

Hello friends,

I’d like to ask you to help shine a little light on someone’s day that really needs it right now.  My friend and Christian recording artist Tammy Trent is on a mission to give her brother-in-law some encouragement in his time of need.

As many of you may know, Tammy’s husband Trent lost his life a few short years back while free diving in Jamaica.  While Tammy was faced with, perhaps, the saddest moments in her life…so was Trent’s brother, Troy.

Now, doctors have diagnosed Troy with cancer…and within the past couple of days, the family has hospice working with him.  No one but our Lord trully knows the time that he has left on this earth – but we can do powerful things for Troy and his health.

Would you do a couple of things for me?  Would you take the time tonight and each day to pray for Troy and those providing him medical attention?  When you’re done praying, would you send Troy a SHORT email of encouragement?  This is a special request from Tammy…and the notes of inspriation he has recieved thus far have been very uplifting to him.

Troy’s email is troy@lenderink.com

A friend in need…

I’ve been out of town for the past few days and decided to check on how some of my favorite blogs are doing…and had my heart broken.

A friend of mine named John who, quite honestly, does much more for advancing the name of Jesus into the technological world then I could ever dream of….a man who can post thirty million posts in 30 minutes…has been silent.

I found out that his wife went to the doctor with regards to their second child…a child that she was pregnant with…and the results were not good at all.

You can read his blog post here – and I would ask that you pray for John and his family.  He’s a special guy…he has helped sooooo many people in his role and in his personal life…and now needs our prayers.

Cool thing happening!

"I'm Yours" … my kids steal the show!

About a month back, I had been working in my home studio on some songs and decided to do my own arrangement of one of Jason Mraz’s songs just for my wife. My kids love coming in and watching me mix. This time, they were both watching me….so I decided to let my kiddos in on the action to sing with me – and help make Crystal’s day. They, of course, stole the show.

"Let The Little Children Come To Me"….

If you are close to me – you know I love kids.  I’ve done various things in the church…but none can touch you more than working with kiddos.  I was the boys AWANA Director for my last church in Oklahoma and also led the boys and girls version of “Wed Night Church” (Counsel Time) there.  I had the pleasure of seeing a lot of kids be saved…and got the ultimate honor of playing a part in many of their lives.

I still remember the Children’s Revival that I got to do with Kieth Coast (awesome guy….book him if you haven’t already.) and saw over twenty kids in just one night who gave their lives to Jesus…including my son.  Now that he is ten years old…he is still on fire.

Tonight, after the kids had gone to bed, my wife showed me something he did in school today.  I’m not clear what it was for…some kind of “fun project”…but it was obvious that it was supposed to be a “Wanted” poster of himself.

The cool thing about this poster was that he decided to put “supporting facts” behind why he was “WANTED”.  Bear in mind…he is in public school.  We haven’t had him in a private Christian school in a couple of years…

Hunter decided to write out for his class to see…that he was “crazy like a rabid dog about Jesus.”

Sometimes I wish I were more like my son…

The right way to do hotdogs…

I wanted to test the video feature on the blog and show you how my kids grill hotdogs .  Bart Millard…eat your heart out.  THIS is why I like summer!
